Broken Hearted

I can feel it,
weight dislodged and shifting
slithering serpent sliding up
iron in my mouth
cough, blood drooling down my chin
fleshy lump on my tongue,
too big to cage in teeth.
It pulses, I choke, hunch over
sanguine waterfall onto asphalt.
I see it, gelatin solidifying
into crystalline symbol.
So beautiful--
It shatters.
